A couple of weeks ago, my watch went dead (at precisely 4:22am, fwiw). Presumably the battery was dead, but since the watch has a screw-in back that takes a special spanner wrench to come off, I didn’t care to pay a jeweler $10-20 to replace it for me until the next time the battery dies. Instead I dug around on ebay and found this nifty tool—it’s an adjustable spanner wrench especially for removing the backs off these sorts of watches. It had to ship all the way from Hong Kong, but when it finally got here it appeared to be pretty well-made. Taking the watch back off was a snap; add $5.25 for a pack of 5 new watch batteries, and voila! good as new. Cool stuff.
