Actually, to call them just “chimes” would be quite an understatement. This system is a set of electronic wireless batons that are motion sensitive and controlled through a programmable base station. The base station allows a director to program the individual batons to be any note or instrument desired using MIDI2 technology. The results are pretty dramatic; several of the videos (particularly ‘Also Sprach Zarathustra’ and ‘Marines’ Hymn’ would have been basically indistinguishable from a real band or orchestra if not for the visual evidence.
