101 Days of Unemployment

Tomorrow will be a little oasis in the “Desert of Unemployment.” I will be substituting for a teacher’s assistant at a nearby preschool. I’m not sure if I’ll remember how to function in a work environment after 101 days in a row of not working! Even though I secured a position as a substitute teacher back in October, the state of Arizona took their sweet time processing my fingerprint card. Now I’m officially able to teach, and I’ll be subbing in the 4 year old class tomorrow and in the 3,4 & 5 year old daycare on Thursday. Thursday night Stephen and I will also be providing child care for a neighboring church during their Christmas program. So, all in one week, we have 3 money-making opportunities! The only drawback is that we will now need to file AZ income taxes for 2 days of work. Oh well, we’re definitely thankful for work!
